Unboxing and design

Acer Predator Helios 300 comes in a black box. The packaging shows us the Predator logo, while on one side we have detailed the main technical characteristics of the laptop.

Once we open the box we find the following bundle:

Acer Predator Helios 300 is not a team that stands out for its design, in fact, it is manufactured with a black plastic body that does not look very different from the brand's cheaper gaming equipment, something that on the other hand saves on costs for invest the money in the hardware or simply offer a lower sale price. The only detail that breaks with black are the two red stripes that surround the Predator logo.

The dimensions of the equipment are 39.11 x 26.67 x 3.81 mm and its weight is 2.67 kg so we are facing a team with quite common dimensions for its range and the hardware it includes.

As good gaming equipment presents a good selection of ports in the form of Ethernet, USB Type-C, HDMI, USB 3.0 and an SD card slot on the left.

While on the right side we find a 3.5 mm jack for headphones and two USB 2.0 ports.

Speaking of the screen, the Acer Predator Helios 300 mounts a panel with a size of 15.6 inches that offers an excellent balance between comfort of use and portability. The technology of the panel is IPS so we can expect excellent representation and colors and a very good image quality in general thanks to its resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels.

We now go to see the keyboard, it is a unit with CHICKLET membrane technology, although we can not expect anything from a laptop that seeks to be economical for what it offers while compact, things that would not allow a mechanical keyboard. We now analyze the interior of the Acer Predator Helios 300, the laptop is built around an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 graphics card with 6 GB of GDDR5 memory that offers excellent performance in the most demanding games at 1080p resolution. Most of its rivals by price offer a GTX 1050 Ti that is quite inferior so this laptop offers us an excellent value in this regard.

The graphics card is accompanied by an Intel Core i7-7700HQ based on the Kaby Lake architecture and offers a total of four cores and eight processing threads at a base frequency of 2.8 GHz that goes up to 3.8 GHz in turbo mode. It also has 8 MB of L3 cache for excellent performance in all kinds of tasks. Next to the processor we found 16GB of DDR4 RAM in dual channel configuration at a frequency of 2133MHz and an M.2 SSD storage of 256 GB.
